To apply, visit the official University of Fort Hare website online application portal. and complete the online application form. You will need to create an account, fill in your personal and academic details, and upload the necessary documents.

Before you start the application process online, you need to have your proof of payment for the Application fee; a Certified copy of your ID; Certified copy or your Grade 12 mid-year or June examination results OR a certified copy of your National Certificate; and a signed Guardian Consent form if you are under the age of 18 years.

The application deadlines vary depending on the program. Generally:

Yes, there is a non-refundable application fee. The application fee is R120.

Yes, you can apply for more than one program at the University of Fort Hare.

Yes, you can apply using your Grade 12 mid-year or June examination results.   If accepted, your admission may be conditional on receiving your final National Certificate results.

Yes, if you are applying for university accommodation, you may be required to submit proof of your residential address. This is also important if you are applying as an international student.

Bursary Opportunities

NSFAS

The NSFAS bursary is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents with a combined household income of not more than R350 000 per annum before deductions. For persons living with disabilities, the combined household income is capped at

R600 000 per annum before deductions.  Visit the application section of the NSFAS bursary scheme to learn more what scheme covers and how to apply.

Funza Lushaka Bursary

Funza Lushaka is only applicable to those students that intend to enroll for the Bachelor of Education degrees. This funder enables eligible students to complete a teaching qualification in an area of national priority.  For a full description of the Funza Lushaka Priorities offered by the Department of Basic Education and for further application information, visit the Funza Lushaka website.

COID Bursary

This is a scheme formulated by the Department of Labor in South Africa and addresses the Missing Middle students whose parents are earning more than R350 000 threshold.  Students will be advised on when this funding becomes available so that they can submit their application.
