About the Office of the Dean Student Affairs

Empowering Students, Enriching Campus Life

The Office of the Dean of Student Affairs plays a vital role in bridging the gap between students and university administration, ensuring the University provides an inclusive and supportive environment to cater to the needs of the UFH’s diverse student body. Under Mr. Tshikhudo leadership, the office acts as the primary advocate for students, addressing concerns and resolving issues related to student life, such as housing, health services and student counselling and governance.  By fostering open communication and responding promptly to student concerns, the Dean of Student Affairs helps maintain a conducive environment.

Student Affairs is instrumental in promoting cultural integration and awareness within the university. Africa’s rich cultural diversity necessitates programs and policies that celebrate and respect this diversity to enhance understanding and cooperation among students from various backgrounds. By organising cultural events, workshops, and indabas, the Dean of Student Affairs encourages students to embrace multiculturalism and diversity, which enriches the UFH experience.

In terms of student development, the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs provides essential support in student support, career counselling, and leadership training. By offering resources and guidance, the office aids students in making informed academic and career choices.

Student Affairs plays a crucial role in ensuring student welfare and well-being by offering student counselling and services for disabled students.  By prioritizing student well-being and promoting an inclusive environment, the office creates a supportive environment that contributes to the academic success and personal growth.

By involving students in decision-making processes through the SRC, the Dean’s office empowers them to actively contribute to shaping the developmental trajectory of UFH. This participatory approach not only builds leadership skills but also instils a sense of responsibility and pride in the institution.
