Fort Hare Foundation to Host Fundraising Golf Day & Gala Dinner in Support of GBV Prevention

The University of Fort Hare Foundation is proud to announce its upcoming Fundraising Golf Day and Gala Dinner. It will take place on Friday, 29 August 2025, at the East London Golf Club.

This prestigious event will bring together alumni, business leaders, government representatives, and friends of the University to help raise funds in support of gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response initiatives. GBV continues to devastate the lives of students and communities across South Africa. The University is committed to strengthening its interventions to create a safer, more supportive learning environment.

The day will begin with a Golf Tournament, providing a platform for networking and building partnerships. In the evening, guests will gather for the Gala Dinner. Esteemed dignitaries—including the University’s Chancellor, leadership, and distinguished alumni—will join supporters for an evening of fine dining, entertainment, and fundraising.

“The University of Fort Hare has a proud history of shaping leaders who stand for justice and equality. Through this event, we aim to honor that legacy by investing in programmes that address gender-based violence. We also support the well-being and success of our students,” said Mr Vuyani Hako, Director at the Fort Hare Foundation.

The Foundation invites members of the media to cover this important event. Your coverage will help amplify efforts to raise awareness and mobilize resources to end GBV and create safer campuses.
