Academic Biography

Khomotjo Kgare, known as KK, is a dedicated clinician and emerging audiology and speech therapy academic, passionate about improving accessibility in her field and enhancing students’ university experiences. She earned her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Limpopo; a Master’s in Audiology from the University of Witwatersrand; a Post-graduate Diploma in higher education and training (Cum Laude) from the University of Fort Hare. KK has received several awards for her academic and professional excellence. As a clinician, she established clinical departments at Thabazimbi Hospital and Ndlovu Wits Audiology Clinic before transitioning to academia in 2019. KK is currently a lecturer in the Natural and Rehabilitative Sciences department and is the departmental research coordinator. She has presented her research at various national and international conferences and published her work in various DHET-accredited journals.
