Multidisciplinary Indigenous Knowledge Conference

About event

We are excited to announce the upcoming Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) 2025 Conference, taking place from 15–17 October 2025.

There is a growing urgency to document, validate, and integrate Indigenous Knowledge Systems into national research, policy, education, and innovation agendas—not as token gestures, but as equal and dynamic knowledge systems. IKS holds the potential to inform transformative solutions to some of today’s most pressing challenges, including sustainability, food security, climate resilience, and mental health.

Positioned within this critical context, the IKS 2025 Conference seeks to:

  • Bridge indigenous wisdom and contemporary innovation.

  • Foster academic rigor and collaborative research.

  • Empower communities and youth as active custodians of knowledge.

Conference Theme: “Bridging Traditional and Contemporary Knowledge for Sustainable Development”

This three-day gathering will bring together scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and community leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue, share experiences, and chart pathways for integrating IKS into future-focused development agendas.
