MASTER OF SCIENCE IN APPLIED REMOTE SENSING AND GEOGRAPHICAL INFOMATION SYSTEMS
About
programme
A Master of Science in Applied Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) provides an advanced understanding of the techniques and technologies used to capture, analyze, and interpret spatial and environmental data. This degree equips students with the theoretical knowledge of remote sensing, GIS, and spatial data analysis, enabling them to study and model complex natural and human systems. Students gain expertise in interpreting satellite imagery, aerial photography, and geospatial data to understand patterns of land use, climate change, biodiversity, and urban development. By exploring the integration of spatial data across multiple platforms, the program fosters a deep understanding of how these technologies can be used to address pressing global challenges, from environmental monitoring to disaster response and sustainable resource management. Ultimately, an MSc in Applied Remote Sensing and GIS cultivates a sophisticated ability to analyze and interpret the spatial dynamics of the world, preparing students to contribute to critical decisions that shape the future of our environment and society.
