The Whistleblowing Hotline at the University of Fort Hare is independently managed and accessible. It serves as a resource for employees, students, service providers, and stakeholders to confidentially report unethical behaviour, fraud, corruption, misconduct, or irregularities. Anonymous reporting is permitted, with all disclosures handled in strict confidence.

Guidelines
Understand the Hotline's Purpose
Before using the hotline, ensure you know its purpose. It’s intended for reporting serious issues, like fraud, corruption, harassment, or safety violations.
Gather Evidence and DocumentationTeaching & Learning
Gather as much information and documentation as possible. This may include dates, times, involved individuals, emails, and any relevant documentation. Having solid evidence strengthens your case.
Report Clearly and Concisely
When reporting, present your information clearly and concisely. Stick to facts and avoid emotional language or speculation.
Act Quickly
If unethical behaviour, fraud, corruption, misconduct, or irregularities are ongoing, report it as soon as possible.
Maintain Professionalism
Maintain professionalism even if you are angry or upset. This increases the credibility of your report.
Seek Support
Whistleblowing can be stressful. Ensure you have a support system, whether friends, family, or a counsellor.
