Academic Biography

Dr Tobeka Dondashe-Mtise is an academic and a scholar in the discipline of nursing in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Fort Hare. She specializes in the field of Medical- Surgical Nursing focusing on Critical Care Nursing Science and organ donation. Her research focuses on organ donation and non-communicable diseases with 11 citations, an 4 h-index and i10 index of 0. She is a recipient of Seed grant from Research and Innovation unit of the university and SETA funding to complete her PhD. Dr Mtise began her academic career as a lecturer in 2012. She has served as an HOD occasionally, currently is a teaching and learning coordinator for the Department of Public Health and Nursing. She has supervised 3 master’s and twelve 4th year students to completion and is currently supervising 5 master’s and 1 PhD. Serving as a committee member in the Health Research Ethics Committee from 2018 and Eastern Cape Department of Health Provincial Ethics Committee from 2023.
