More than 50% First Time Entrants Registered on Day Two
Registration on the East London Campus is proceeding without hassles and the 50% mark on new registrations (first time entering the university system) has already been achieved.
The University of Fort Hare precinct in East London has been a hive of activity since yesterday (Monday 20th) when first time entering students commenced with registration. Over the next three weeks returning students will also register at our three campuses - East London, Alice and Bhisho.
According to Dr Rose Masha, Deputy Registrar: Academic Affairs, more than half of the expected first year students were registered by Tuesday.” On day one the focus was on first year students and on day two we registered some more first years and a few returning students. So far, we are happy with the process,” said Dr Masha.
Exam and Enrolment Officer, Ms Thembisa Gwintsa, said the process has been “smooth-sailing.”
“We haven’t had any major hiccups and we have been able to register all students that meet the requirements.
Phelisa Ntabelo, who registered for her first year Law degree said the process was quick and easy. “The student assistants were very helpful and friendly.”
Registration will continue until 24 January in East London; then to move to Alice from 28 January to 7 February and conclude at the Bhisho campus on 11 and 12 February.
