Mr Thandolwethu Mteto

I

am a young, dynamic, strategic and energetic professional with an interest in sustainable community services, engineering and societal integration activities and a social activist who wants to see change and development.

Academically, I possess background in human settlements development and management, an Honours degree at Nelson Mandela University. Currently, I am pursuing Masters in Construction Management by research, with a specialisation in solid waste management and local economic development, aiming to build a framework on how municipalities and townships in South Africa can utilise solid waste a resource to sustain their livelihoods in difficult times of high unemployment rate and Pandemic outbreak.

My career interests lie in human settlements planning and management, affordable housing development and management, in line with legislation, policies, programmes projects, ethics, norms and standards, continuous professional development, advocacy, and professionalization of the human settlements sector.

Up to 3 years of experience, from a total of 6 years working experience, in stakeholder engagement both nationally and internationally, providing administration support to the Board and the organisation, strategic management, leadership, and client care. Up to 2 years’ experience in the affordable housing development and management focusing on research projects, value adding projects, customer satisfaction, policy development and administration support where necessary, 3 months on municipal waste planning, focusing on development of reports, literature review and qualitative and quantitative methodologies. And 3 years of facilitation and tutoring of high school students focusing on Mathematics, and Science Subjects.
