Dr Adebola Olufunmi Olaborede

Dr Olaborede holds a LLB (University of Ilorin, Nigeria), LLM (University of Stellenbosch) and LLD (University of Fort Hare) degrees. She also has completed human rights courses in Children’s Rights in Africa from Centre for Human Rights University of Pretoria and African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) Communications Procedures and Child Rights Jurisprudence in Africa. Adebola is currently a Time on Task lecturer and started her teaching career at the University of Fort Hare in 2017. She is teaching Legal Research Methodology and Human Rights Theory and Practice. Adebola was also an associate editor of Speculum Juris journal in 2017 and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow under the Research Niche Area (RNA): Law, Science and Justice from 2018 to 2020. Her research has focused on international human rights law, particularly women rights and children’s rights. In addition, she has explored the multidisciplinary issues in law, science and justice, with the aim of addressing global challenges and providing theoretical perspectives on new knowledge in science that will assist the Criminal Law System in South Africa.
