Mr Siyabulela Pango

Mr Pango assumed duties as Director of the UFH Legal Aid Clinic on the 1st of March 2018. He was admitted as an attorney on the 19th of May 2000. He had practised law as an attorney for twenty-one years, ten of which in the High Court. Mr Pango obtained a BProc degree from the University of Transkei, 1996 and an LLB degree from Rhodes University, 1997. Mr Pango is currently an LLM Candidate at Nelson Mandela University. On the 1st of June 2000 he was appointed as Professional Assistant at Mlonyeni Inc. (attorneys) for a short stint before practising under his own account under the name and style of Pango & Co (attorneys). On the 10th of August 2006. Mr Pango was appointed as an attorney at Legal Aid South Africa, King William’s Town. His duties was mainly to provide legal representation to indigent accused persons in the High Court. On the 1st of November 2017 Mr Pango was appointed by the Department of Justice and Correctional Services as an acting magistrate at East London Magistrate Court. He was assigned to the Bail Court where he adjudicated over bail applications and attended office administration. Mr Pango has been involved in a number of extracurricular activities amongst others being an election observer on behalf of the Law Society of South Africa during the Local Government Elections held on the 3rd of August 2016, and for being a small claims court commissioner at the magistrate court King William’s Town and Zwelitsha. Mr Pango’s Community Engagement / Pro Bono work include being a Legal Advisor of various vulnerable communities, amongst them, residents of Ebhongweni Informal Settlement, residents of Komga Zone 10 Farm Dwellers, residents living in Newlands quarry etc.
