Welcome to the Faculty of Health Science
The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Fort Hare is a vibrant and intellectually challenging academic space run by a team of capable administrators and academics. The Faculty thrives because of the committed, focused, and dedicated staff who are enthusiastic about the academic enterprise and in particular clinical training. The Faculty of Health Sciences is part of a multilateral agreement with the Department of Health to host our clinical training platform at the East London Resources Centre for our students to be part of this exciting program together with students from Lilitha College and Walter Sisulu University. We have teaching and research collaborations nationally, regionally and internationally.
The diversity that exists in our Faculty is a microcosm of a larger society: this is very important for our students who will step out to a world that is endowed with colourful diversity in terms of race, nationality, (dis)ability, gender identity, sexual orientation, creed, language, culture, class etc. We are confident that our student’s exposure to diversity in their classrooms and in practice, in their young adulthood, will benefit them and their future- employers enormously.
The Faculty has a community-engaged scientific programme which is coordinated by the Health Sciences Institute. Our Post-graduate students are part of various studies that are led by rated and renowned Principal Investigators (PIs).
Thank you for showing interest in our Faculty, as a prospective student, we promise you that your education and training from us will set you aside.
