FOSST wins the HP Innovation in Education Grant Initiative in South Africa

2010 HP Catalyst Grant Initiative worth $150,000

The FOSST Discovery Centre has done it again! It is proud to announce that it is the recipients of 2010 HP Catalyst Grant Initiative worth $150,000. These are fruits of fundraising endeavors by Phumezo Kwinana, Manager of FOSST Discovery Centre who in 2009, was a grantee of 2009 HP Innovations in Education Grant, also from HP.

FOSST Mobile Centre Unveiling

The FOSST Discovery has received a sponsorship of a Mobile Lab from the Department of Science and Technology (DST). We are so excited to receive the sponsorship as we usually visit surrounding schools to perform experiments that will enable and encourage them to follow careers in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET). The Mobile Lab was officially handed over by the Deputy Minister of DST, Minister Derek Hanekom. The artwork of it was done by one of our former Japanese Volunteer, Mr Akishi Shimizu.
