The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the significant problems experienced by both schools and educational institutions in South Africa. In fact, it aggravated the situation in educational institutions, since the lack of adequate laboratory resources in schools, especially in rural areas, and a shortage of adequate research equipment in some higher institutions were existing. The FOSST Discovery Centre received laptops from the IDC! These are fruits of hard work endeavors by the Director of the Projects Office, Ms Nokulunga Mnqeta.
As you know we started the online/remote experimentation project which will revolutionize the way we do things in our science practical session spaces. Students will now be able to perform experiments at any time and anywhere if there is internet connectivity. The laptops will enable us to space them in accordance with social distancing while they perform these experiments when they are physically on-site.
