FOSST-DC has initiated Science clubs around the Eastern Cape Province and has assisted a number of Dinaledi schools to create an opportunity for learners to develop skills beyond a formal classroom setting. These clubs also become platforms for learners to socialise, share ideas which also develop and strengthen their skills without adult involvement. These skills include soft, problem-solving, leadership, decision making and team work, amongst others. Best of all, science clubs stimulate learners’ interest in Science, Engineering and Technology. In 2015, the FOSST-DC launch two science clubs at Amazizini and St James High School respectively.
