Aya completed his BSc in Zoology and Entomology in 2013 at the University of Fort Hare. He is currently enrolled in the same department for his BSc Honours degree under the supervision and co-supervision of Prof. J. C. Masters and Dr. F. Génin, respectively. His current research entails assessing the population density in the Mozambique bushbaby (Galagoides granti) in South Africa. He presented his proposed work plan at the Southern African Society for Systematic Biology (SASSB) conference (April, 2014) as well as the Primate Ecology and Genetics Group (PEGG) conference (June 2014), and is in the process of re-plotting the distribution of the southern Galagoides populations. He hopes to extend this research in the form of further postgraduate studies.
