  • ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    To be eligible for admission to degree study, applicants need to meet minimum requirements for eligibility:
  • Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
  • Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.

    The admission requirements for postgraduate study vary from one programme to another. You are advised to consult the Faculty Prospectuses concerned directly in order to find out what is required for the course or degree that you want to take.
    Applicants holding non-South African school-leaving certificates must qualify for a matriculation exemption certificate. For more information please visit the website of the Matriculation Board.A valid study visa is a requirement for registration.
    All applicants with non-South African qualifications are required to have their qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). For more information regarding evaluation of qualifications please visit the SAQA website: Please note that all foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority before an application form is forwarded to the University. It is the responsibility of the prospective student to forward his/her documentation to SAQA.
