SENIOR LECTURER: FINE ARTS

Minimum requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Fine Arts/A Doctoral Degree in Fine Arts (History of Art) will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years teaching and research experience in higher education.
  • Experience in the teaching of drawing, painting, graphic art, history of art, philosophy of art and new media/multimedia.
  • Extensive knowledge of and practical teaching experience in sculptural processes and other three dimensional fabrications.
  • Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
  • Ability to refine curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Sound knowledge of local and global contemporary visual art productions.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching of drawing, painting, graphic art, history of art, philosophy of art and new media/multimedia.
  • Facilitation of sculptural processes and other three dimensional fabrications practicals.
  • Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
  • Production of academic publications, especially in accredited journals.
  • Participation in community engagement.
  • Refining curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Participation in general academic and administrative processes of the Department and the University.
