Job Description:

What is your Faculty?

Knowledge, strength, oration, charisma, inspiration, goal orientation, or all of the above – you're just an outstanding leader?

There is no doubt, the university of Fort Hare is an African landmark.  An institution that has contributed like no other during South Africa's struggle … an institution of reformation and democracy … an institution faced with enormous adversity still went on, proudly producing numerous South African leaders including Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Robert Sobukwe, Oliver Tambo, Govan Mbeki, Z.K. Matthews, Chris Hani, as well as a host of other African leaders.

Implementing a university's vision and mission is key among your priorities, as is Faculty leadership and management.  You are well-practised as a consummate leader in your academic field, building both respect and stature in providing high-level academic curricula, advancing research and teaching programs and being a strategic thinker and implementer of note. Transformation coupled to contributing to constituent communities is something you flourish on.

Bring your Doctorate in Social Sciences and Humanities or associated fields and showcase your record of scholarly achievements. In tandem with a university's vision, you are known to competently craft specific vision for the Faculty in your charge.  Managing and leading in a university or similar environment is second nature to you. Interdivisional buy-in among schools and other stakeholders is a particular prowess, as is your ability to communicate in an excellent way.  You are well-practised when it comes to financial management and budgeting.
