Fort Hare hosts SALDA Annual Meeting

SALDA (South African LAW Deans Association) held one of its annual meetings at the East London Campus on Friday. The body meets twice annually to discuss matters concerning legal education in South Africa. SALDA is an association of incumbent deans of South African faculties of law and heads of law schools. The members do not officially represent their institutions, but the Association is representative of the views and experiences of those responsible for the management of legal education in the country.

The Department of Business Management engages East London Business people with insightful research

The Department of Business management treated some 40 local business people at the East London Golf club to a breakfast presentation, in which one of the country’s most anticipated research projects, the Majority Report, which was conducted by the UCT Unilever Institute of Strategic Marketing was presented. The report, which was presented by Martin Neethling, a business man whose career spans 24 years in the marketing industry, is arguably the most comprehensive study to date into South Africa’s mass market and examines the lives and the buying behaviours of South Africans living in households earning less than R5, 000 per month.
