Fort Hare Doctoral students at the annual PALAMA (PSTF) conference

Two University of Fort Hare Doctoral students from the Faculty of Management and Commerce, Mthokozisi Mpofu and Clifford Hlatywayo were representatives at the annual Southern African Institute of Management Scientists conference in Cape Town leading the duo to the 16th public administration leadership and management conference in Gauteng. Aimed at providing an opportunity and a forum in which experts and researchers share their experiences, making human resource development an agent for professionalizing the public service, bring in international experience on human resource development. All these objectives were met through presentation of various papers by different speaker, some amongst them, Prof Sipho Seepe from the Department of Public Service and Administration, Monge Mnyami, Head of Department in the department of Human Settlement, Dr Vuyokazi Mahlati from the National planning commission, UFH academic Professor Reckson Thakhathi and Dr Auluck from the University of Coventry in the United Kingdom. The University presenters made various presentation and tremendous contribution towards issues of policy formulation that would shape the future of Human Resource Development in the public service through their contributions in forums and workshops during the conference. Both Mthokozisi and Clifford were quite pleased to fly the flag of Fort Hare so high and grateful of the opportunity PALAMA afforded them to participate in the conference and of the support they received from the institution, through the Govan Mbeki Research and Development Centre.
