Admission

               A learner shall not be admitted as a candidate for the Postgraduate Diploma in ELMD unless the learner –

•    is an educator in a school management team or an educator/official in a district education office; and

•    holds a Bachelor of Education (Honours) at NQF Level 7.

Duration

               The curriculum shall extend over two academic years.

Curriculum

               The Postgraduate Diploma in ELMD is a 128 SAQA credit post-graduate diploma at NQF level 8. The curriculum consists of eight core modules:

ELM 715                Participatory Action for Transformation and Strategic Planning

ELM 716                Education Management Development and Information Systems

ELM 717                Communities and Social Transformation

ELM 718                Projects and Finance

Assessment

•    Formative continuous assessment shall apply through Peer, self and tutor assessment; Student-led seminars; Portfolio of hand-in activities, etc.; Reflexive journals;  Assignments; Attendance & participation.
