Admission:  Criteria for ACE Maths/Science/Technology

·       3 years Teacher Diploma (Level 5)

·       Students must be practising teachers in the GET Band of schooling

·       Preference will be given to teachers who are currently teaching Mathematics, Science or Technology, as applicable           

 

Purpose

               The ACE (MathsEd) aims to improve the theoretical understanding and professional practice of educators in Mathematics Education. 

Curriculum

               All Advanced Certificate courses are 120-credit qualifications at Level 6 (Educators in Schooling).

               Curriculum: Level 5 Qualification

               For Foundation, Intermediate and Senior Phase endorsement:

               A candidate entering at Level 5 must obtain or be granted credit in the following:

•  Literacy and Numeracy

•  Mathematics Education 1

•  Mathematics Education 2

•  Curriculum Studies in Mathematics

•  Technology in Mathematics

•  Teaching Learning & Research

•  The Education Environment 1

               Curriculum: Level 6 Qualification

               For Foundation, Intermediate and Senior Phase endorsement:

               A candidate entering at Level 6 must obtain or be granted credit in the following:

•  Mathematics Education 1

•  Mathematics Education 2

•  Curriculum Studies in Mathematics 1

•  Curriculum Studies in Mathematics 2
