Biography: 

Ms Du Plessis is Senior Lecturer and the Undergraduate Programme Coordinator in the department. Her MSc focused on the interrelationships between Fluvial Geomorphology and Riparian Vegetation, within the context of Interbasin Water Transfer Schemes. She is an experienced consultant and researcher in the application of GIS in Natural and Earth Sciences, and started lecturing in 1994 at the Unversity of the Free State.  International contributions include work as a member of a UNEP’s Scientific Research Group on sustainable utilisation of resources, and the sustainability of land-use practices in the Savannah regions of Southern Africa.
