UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES IN ECONOMICS
The Undergraduate Economics is offered at a number of distinct levels. The Economics 1 course provides an introduction to the study of Economics and can be taken as a stand-alone course. In Economics 2, the theory of the first year is built upon and expanded to cope with more complex analysis. Economics 3 gives a far more practical exposure to Economics and leaves the learner with a solid grasp of Economics in the real world. At this level learners are able to choose career- orientated specialization topics in Economics.
ECONOMICS up to the second year of study is compulsory in Commerce curricula (except Accounting) and may be taken as a major subject for the degrees: Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Administration, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Social Sciences. Other second majors commonly taken with Economics include: Accounting, Information Systems, Legal Theory and Management, but Economics is also useful when combined with any one of a wide range of other subjects including Industrial Sociology and Psychology.
