FUNDING / SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

The University provides Honours tuition fee waiver for South African citizens or permanent residents who have passed their Bachelors Degrees and who have obtained 70% or above in Economics III. It also provides a full tuition for students who are South African citizens, permanent residents or citizens of SADC countries and who register for a Masters by dissertation or a Doctorate by a thesis. Course work masters students are eligible for a partial tuition waiver, depending on the proportion of their degree comprising the research component.

Furthermore, the Department of Transport through the Eastern Centre of Transport Development provides bursaries for post-graduate students specializing in transport economics. The bursaries include: tuition fees as well as stipends currently amounting R 2500 per month for Honours and R 4000 per month for Masters. In addition, a limited number of other bursaries as well as awards are offered to top students doing undergraduate and postgraduate students.
