OUR MISSION

WHAT IS ECONOMICS?
ECONOMICS is the study of the livelihood of people and the welfare of society. In the quest for rising living standards, both the individual and the society at large are constrained by the relatively meager resources at their disposal. The fundamental purpose of the study of Economics is to form judgments on the way in which society should use its limited resources to achieve a high and improving the standard of living.
Whether one intends doing a B.Econ, B.Com, B.Admin, B.SocSci or even BA for that matter, Economics provides learners with a wonderful opportunity for learning a new way of thinking, and for understanding the external environment (markets, business, etc.) within which we find ourselves. Economics provides a solid theoretical and practical grounding for anyone interested in Commerce, Public Sector Management and Administration or Social Science, as well as, opportunities to improve one’s mind and abstract thought processes. It is from the fundamentals of Micro-and-Macro Economics during Economics 1, that the course is built and progresses into second year and beyond providing numerous specialization opportunities for those interested in the discipline.
