Minister Naledi Pandor Hydrogen Fuel Technology Launch

The FOSST-DC attended the launching of the Technology for Rural Education Development (Tech4RED) project by the DST Minister Naledi Pandor on the 12 of June 2015 in Cofimvaba. The aim of the project was to contribute to the improvement of rural education through ICT-led innovation in nutrition, agri-teaching, energy, water, sanitation and e-health and the development of a science centre in Cofimvaba. The project further investigated how to best integrate Science, Technology and Innovation in order to contribute to improving the delivery of basic education. Furthermore, there was also an official unveiling of the three fuel cells that have been installed at St Mark’s Primary School, Arthur Mfebe Senior Secondary School and Mvuzo Secondary School. The FOSST-DC participated at this event through exhibitions.


On the Subject of Me

Phumezo Kwinana is a graduate from the Universities of Fort Hare and Stellenbosch where he obtained MSc in Physics and MSc eng. (electrical). In 1994, he joined the University of Fort Hare as a Junior Lecturer and later a Lecturer from 1998 to date, in 2004, he founded a Discovery Centre called FOSST.
