Senior Lecturer: Business Management

East London Campus - Ref No.: 4063

R 575 270 – R 715 670 (All-inclusive package)

 

            Minimum Requirements: 

  • Possession of a doctoral degree in Business Management
  • 7 years teaching experience in a higher education environment
  • Sound knowledge in the areas of Financial and/or Operations Management would be an advantage
  • A good record of research publications and evidence of ongoing research activity
  • Proven track record of supervision at Honours’ and Master’s level and proven ability to develop research capacity in the department
  • Evidence of community engagement activity
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Relevant computer skills

 

            Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of academic programmes, including teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students, especially in the areas of Financial and Operations management
  • Proper administration and coordination of academic programmes, including monitoring and tracking students’ progress on ITS
  • Participation in teaching and curriculum development programmes and assist with design of new and existing programmes
  • Participation in ongoing research activities and dissemination of research findings in relevant discipline-specific accredited publications
  • Supervision of postgraduate research projects as per departmental requirements
  • Taking an active role in community engagement activities of the department or in field of speciality
  • Representing and serving the university on different committees and groups where necessary
