SECURITY MANAGER: PROPERTIES DIVISION

ALICE, BHISHO AND EAST LONDON CAMPUS – REF NO: 697

 R 537 636 – R 668 851 P.A. (All-inclusive package)


Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent position in the Properties Division: 

 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Contribute to the strategic plan of the university with respect to security matters
  • Develop security annual business plans and budgets.
  • Manage resources allocated to the function such as personnel, budgets, vehicles, equipment, etc.
  • Manage security related investigations;
  • Lead operations at UFH that are associated with special events in collaboration with specialized VIP protection services of government dignitaries.
  • Manage stakeholder relations with SAPS Station Commissioners of Alice, East London and Bisho as well as Provincial POPS – Public Order Police Services.
  • Perform administrative duties associated with security staff complement

 

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A relevant B. Degree/National Diploma;
  • At least 10 years relevant management experience in a similar environment;
  • Security clearance;
  • Computer literacy;
  • A valid driver’s licence;
  • Good knowledge of DHET, DoL and Prsira compliance regulations;
  • Good knowledge of campus environment dynamics;
  • Excellent knowledge of the regulatory environment associated with security and/or protection services;
  • Excellent knowledge and networks of the security cluster;
  • A firm yet empathetic character towards students and staff matters
  • Good knowledge of intelligence gathering, tactical acumen, investigations and reporting
