PROFESSOR: FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION

SCHOOL OF GENERAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

EAST LONDON CAMPUS – REF NO: G056

R 824 012 – R 1 026 820 p.a. (All-Inclusive package)


 

Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent position in the Faculty of Education:

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education courses;
  • Supervise master’s and doctoral students;
  • Undertake publishable academic research;
  • Participate in community engagement;
  • Perform academic leadership and related administrative duties.

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • PhD in Education/DEd.
  • Extensive teaching and research experience in Education;
  • Track record of research and publications;
  • Extensive postgraduate supervision experience;
  • Evidence of fund raising for research related activities;
  • Evidence of attracting and working with post-doctoral fellows will be an added advantage.
  • Evidence of academic leadership and/or mentoring less experienced researchers.

Included in the above remuneration is the company contribution to our compulsory pension fund, medical aid contributions, life cover and an optional annual bonus.
