MANAGER: STUDENTS RECORDS AND MAIL

ALICE CAMPUSES – REF NO: 218

R 435 051 – R 540 620 p.a. (All-inclusive package)

 


 

Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent position in the Deputy Registrar's Office (Governance and Legal Service):

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Responsible for accurately, securely and effectively managing information on students’ records and University’s postal services
  • Develops and rolls out policies on students’ records management and postal services
  • Establishes students’ records management systems
  • Develops, maintains, verifies and evaluates existing systems
  • Oversees the switch from paper to electronic record-keeping
  • Writes reports to senior management
  • Manages enquiries and requests for information from both internal and external clients
  • Ensures compliance with financial, legal or administrative requirements and regulations
  • Responsible for the management of classification and indexing students’ records
  • Responsible for the management of the destruction or archiving finished data/records in line with the University policy
  • Providing training to staff who require access or have responsibility for maintaining records
  • Manages performance of staff in the records and postal services section

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • M+4 in record management/archiving/information management
  • 2 years of appropriate and relevant management or supervisory  experience;
  • 5 years of experience in records management;
  • Knowledge of the Archives legislation
  • Be attentive and detail-oriented.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks, work efficiently within time constraints and deadlines, and handle stressful situations.
  • Work effectively as a team member to contribute to the efficient functioning of the Committee Section
