FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND AGRICULTURE

LECTURER : DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY

ALICE CAMPUS - REF NO: 1419

LECTURER SALARY: R 435 051 - R 540 620 p.a. (All-inclusive package)


 Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent position in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Crop Science, Principles of Crop Production, Crop Production, Crop Ecology and Physiology
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
  • Conduct research and community engagement
  • Write and submit proposals for funding to support research and community engagement
  • Publish in accredited journals

 

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • MSc in Crop Science with specialization in Crop Production/Crop Physiology/ Crop Ecology. A PhD in Crop Science will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience at tertiary level and willingness to teach a range of Crop Science courses. 
  • Willingness to conduct quality research and publish in accredited journals
  • Evidence of peer reviewed articles in accredited journals.

Included in the above remuneration is the company contribution to our compulsory pension fund, medical aid contributions, life cover and an optional annual bonus.
