FACULTY MANAGER: FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES

EAST LONDON CAMPUS – REF NO: 8412

R 537 636 – R 668 851 p.a. (All-inclusive package)

 

 Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent post in the Faculty of Health Sciences

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Responsible for the day to day management of core administrative business of the Faculty
  • Effective management of faculty admission, registration , examination and graduation functions
  • Assisting the Dean with the management of the Faculty, development and maintenance of the Faculty academic structure, Faculty policy and rules
  • Compilation and consolidation of the Faculty prospectus and calendar
  • Organization of key activities in the University calendar ( meetings, seminars, colloquia and other relevant faculty workshops)
  • Convening and agenda preparation for faculty meetings ( Faculty Board and other structures)
  • Effective management of the faculty registry function and academic records of central office
  • Co-ordination of student academic matters in the faculty
  • Liaison with the University Registrar and Academic Support  Services
  • Liaison with the Eastern Cape Department of Health including other Provinces where students are placed for Clinical Practice
  • Prepare for meetings of the Multilateral agreement as well as Bilateral Agreement with the Eastern Cape Department of Health Provinces

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in management or related field.
  • An Honours or Master’s degree in Health Sciences will be an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of university procedures as well as sound experience in academic administration
  • Sound knowledge of the Higher Education Act,  national higher education policies and regulations
  • Excellent in leadership, managerial and organisational skills
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective and efficient administration systems
  • Financial management skills
  • Good report-writing and minute taking skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ITS proficiency and other computer programmes

Included in the above remuneration is the company contribution to our compulsory pension fund, medical aid contributions, life cover and an optional annual bonus.
