DIRECTOR : Office of the Vice Chancellor

ALICE CAMPUS

Five - Year Fixed - Term Contract

SALARY: R1 020 378 – 1 530 566 (All Inclusive Package )

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Provide continuous support to Vice-Chancellor to ensure establishment and implementation of strategic goals;
  • Ensure that the Vice-Chancellor’s office maintains a situational awareness of issues and operational information relevant to teaching, research and community engagement;
  • Assist the Vice-Chancellor in monitoring the implementation of strategic objectives;
  • Identify key stakeholders and bodies nationally and internationally with which the University should develop partnerships and other forms of collaboration
  • Assist the Vice-Chancellor identify opportunities for support for the University, its staff members and students;
  • Assist with communicating, executing and sustaining strategic initiatives;
  • Conduct or source credible research to support the work of the Vice-Chancellor’s office;
  • Manage special projects as identified by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time.

Requirements: 
  • A Doctoral qualification;
  • Extensive experience working in higher education institutions and or related institutions
  • Broad experience in different University functional areas and a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities for higher education nationally and internationally;
  • Working knowledge of all legislation and policies pertaining to the higher education sector in South Africa;
  • Excellent research, drafting and report writing skills;
  • Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills and proven ability to think strategically;
  • Ability to cope well under pressure and to be solution-orientated;
  • Should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict management;
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Experience in resource mobilization and proposal writing
