The Administrator of the University of Fort Hare, acting as the Council of the University has, after consultation with Senate, Student Representative Council and the Institutional Forum, made the Statute set out in the Schedule hereto in accordance with section 32 of the Higher Education Act, 1997 (Act No. 101 of 1997), as amended, which is, in terms of the provisions of section 33 of the said Act, hereby published with the approval of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology and which comes into operation on the date of its publication.

The University of Fort Hare, Alumni Office wishes to congratulate Advocate Vusi Pikoli on  assuming his new responsibilities as a Chief Risk & Compliance Officer for South African Airways.Advocate Vusi Pikoli is an alumnus and a former head of the National Prosecuting Authority. He is currently an adviser to State Security Minister Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba.

The Lesotho chapter of the University of Fort Hare alumni association held its annual general meeting in Maseru on 7th December 2018. The chapter has a relationship with the University that dates back to the days of Prime Minister of Lesotho, Ntsu Mokhehle who is among the 5 African Heads of State who are alumni of the University.Alumni of different ages attended and most notably was 95 year old, Mr. Ntsaba who graduated 1946 – 72 years ago! Also present was Mr Borotho who once served the mountain kingdom as deputy governor of the Lesotho Central Bank.
